When I was young, I remember reading old Time-Life science books from the 1950s and 1960s, and I'm sure I remember some monochromish photos that weren't just black-and-white, they also had shades of cream yellow and blue.

I drew this picture of a friend based on a black-and-white photo, but, instead of doing it straight black-and-white, I attempted to recreate the colour schemes of those old photos I remembered.

I can't believe that I got so experimental with colours when I was just 19. In the nearly 13 years since I drew this picture, I haven't drawn anything quite like it since.
